The King's Little Path

Caminito del Rey has an interesting history. It was built between 1901 and 1905 to facilitate workers' access to the El Chorro and Gaitanejo hydroelectric plants. Its name comes from the visit of King Alfonso XIII in 1921, who walked along it during the inauguration of the Conde del Guadalhorce dam.
