Montjuïc Castle

The castle was built in 1640 as a military fortress to defend the city of Barcelona. Over the years, it has been expanded and modified. Throughout its history, the castle has played an important role in several conflicts, including the War of the Spanish Succession and the Spanish Civil War. It was also used as a prison and detention center.
